Close shave at United Way campaign kickoff

Faculty, staff and students at OVC raised more than $1,200 last week to launch the 2006 United Way campaign.
The OVC United Way committee hosted its annual Kickoff Luncheon in the Sunken Lounge on Friday. Supporters munched on pizza, pop, and salads as well as fudge.
Dr. Peter Conlon, assistant dean student affairs and honorary president of the Class of 2009, is now sporting a clean-shaven scalp after “winning” the celebrity head shaving challenge. The ’09s raised $375.06 out of a total of $694.02 pledged to see Conlon sacrifice his hair for a worthy cause.
Class of ’09 president Jackie Parr expertly wielded the clippers, with help from Jennifer Beehler of the OVC United Way committee.
