Published by Ontario Veterinary College (519) 824-4120, Ext. 54401 April 25, 2007 June Deadline for Blake Graham FellowshipsThe generosity and vision of Dr. Blake Graham, OVC 1951, allow the Ontario Veterinary College to offer a number of MSc/PhD training positions for veterinarians who are Canadian citizens or permanent residents. Stipends of a minimum of $28,000 (MSc, 2 years) to $30,000 (PhD, 3 years) are competitively available for well-qualified DVM graduates with excellent academic records in the general area of ‘public health and emerging infectious diseases of importance to people and animals’. Details about graduate programs at the Ontario Veterinary College can be found through the web site listed below. It may be necessary for a successful candidate to enter a MSc program and then reapply for support to continue on in a PhD program. The deadline for the competition is 11 June 2007 or until positions are filled. Candidates should submit a completed application form (available from website) that includes a statement of interest, an identified advisor at Guelph, an outline of the research proposal, transcript of university grades, three letters of recommendation and a curriculum vitae. Candidates awarded a fellowship will begin at the start of a University of Guelph semester (September, May, January). Successful candidates would be expected to apply for nationally-funded fellowships during the course of their studies.
