Genus CEROMASIA Rondani, 1856

CEROMASIA Rondani, 1856: 71 (first introduced as a subgenus of Masicera Macquart, 1834). Type species: Masicera florum Macquart, 1850 (= Phorocera rubrifrons Macquart, 1834), by subsequent designation of Brauer, 1893: 476 [Palearctic].

auricaudata Townsend, 1908.– British Columbia to Montana, south to California and New Mexico, also introduced in Manitoba to Newfoundland and New Brunswick, ?established (S&A, 1965), Michigan, Ohio, Nova Scotia, New Hampshire, Massachusetts (S&A, 1965, as aurifrons), Saskatchewan, Kansas, Ontario (CNC).
– Ceromasia auricaudata Townsend, 1908: 102. Type data: holotype female (USNM). Type locality: USA, Idaho, Harrison.
– Ceromasia aurifrons Townsend, 1908: 102. Type data: holotype female (USNM). Type locality: USA, New Hampshire, Canobie Lake.

– Tachina hybreas Walker, 1849: 785. Type data: holotype female [head, several legs and most setae missing according to Aldrich, 1931a: 14] (BMNH). Type locality: Canada, Ontario, Hudson Bay, Albany River, Marten Falls [near Ogoki] (published as St. Martin's Falls).
– Ceromasia borealis Brooks, 1945a: 89. Type data: holotype female (CNC). Type locality: Canada, Northwest Territories, Great Bear Lake, Cameron Bay.
