DINERA Robineau-Desvoidy, 1830: 307. Type species: Dinera grisea Robineau-Desvoidy, 1830 (= Musca carinifrons Fallén, 1817), by subsequent designation of Townsend, 1916e: 6 [Palearctic].

grisescens (Fallén, 1817).– Europe, British Columbia to Maine, south to Arizona, New Mexico, Kansas, and New Jersey (S&A, 1965), Trancaucasia, Central Asia, Siberia, Mongolia (Richter & Wood, 1995).
– Musca grisescens Fallén, 1817: 243. Type data: holotype male (NHRS). Type locality: Sweden.
– Dinera punctata Robineau-Desvoidy, 1830: 308. Type data: type(s) (MNHN or lost). Type locality: USA, Pennsylvania, Philadelphia.
– Dinera futilis West, 1924: 191. Type data: holotype male (CUI). Type locality: USA, New Jersey, Atco.
