Genus EPALPUS Rondani, 1850

EPALPUS Rondani, 1850: 168, 169. Type species: Micropalpus rufipennis Macquart, 1846, by subsequent designation of Coquillett, 1910b: 538 [Neotropical].

albomaculatus (Jaennicke, 1867).– Arizona, New Mexico, Mexico, Guatemala (S&A, 1965).
– Micropalpus albomaculatus Jaennicke, 1867: 388 (also 1868: 80). Type data: holotype female (SMF). Type locality: Mexico.
– Saundersia maculata Williston, 1886: 304. Type data: holotype female [not male as published] (SEMK). Type locality: USA, New Mexico.

rufipes (Brooks, 1949).– British Columbia and Idaho to California (S&A, 1965).
– Argentoepalpus rufipes Brooks, 1949: 22. Type data: holotype male (CNC). Type locality: Canada, British Columbia, Robson.

signifer (Walker, 1849).– British Columbia to Nova Scotia, south to California, New Mexico, and North Carolina (S&A, 1965), Louisiana, Mississippi, Newfoundland (CNC), Florida (FSCA).
– Tachina plagiata Harris, 1835: 599. Nomen nudum.
– Tachina signifera Walker, 1849: 708. Type data: lectotype male (BMNH), by fixation of Townsend, 1931a: 167 (mention of "Ht" is regarded as a lectotype fixation; specimen bearing a round green-ringed "Type" label is regarded as the lectotype). Type locality: Canada, Nova Scotia.
