Genus GYMNOPHRYXE Villeneuve, 1922

ARCHICLOPS Bischof, 1900a: 131 (junior homonym of Archiclops Karsch, 1891). Type species: Archiclops carthaginiensis Bischof, 1900, by original designation [Palearctic].
GYMNOPHRYXE Villeneuve, 1922a: 292, 293 (first introduced as a subgenus of Ceratochaeta Brauer & Bergenstamm, 1889). Type species: Ceratochaeta nudigena Villeneuve, 1922, by monotypy [Palearctic].

claripennis (Reinhard, 1943).– Washington, Wyoming, Utah (S&A, 1965), Yukon, Alberta (CNC).
– Histochaeta claripennis Reinhard, 1943c: 15. Type data: holotype male (CNC). Type locality: USA, Utah, Park City to Silver Lake.
