OESTROPLAGIA Townsend, 1919c: 566. Type species: Oestroplagia petiolata Townsend, 1919, by original designation.

erythrocera Brauer & Bergenstamm, 1889.– New Mexico, Oklahoma, Texas (S&A, 1965), Arizona (CNC).
– Hesperomyia erythrocera Brauer & Bergenstamm, 1889: 114 (also 1890: 46). Type data: holotype male (NHMW). Type locality: USA, Texas.

petiolata (Townsend, 1919).– Arizona (S&A, 1965), California (CNC).
– Oestroplagia petiolata Townsend, 1919c: 567. Type data: holotype male (USNM). Type locality: USA, Arizona, Santa Catalina Mountains, Sabino Basin, 3550 feet (on flowers of Baccharis sarothroides Gray).
