PENTHOSIA van der Wulp, 1892: 189. Type species: Scopolia satanica Bigot, 1889, by monotypy.

satanica (Bigot, 1889).– Mexico (Guimarães, 1971), Arizona (Wood, 1987b).
– Scopolia satanica Bigot, 1889: 254. Type data: lectotype male (BMNH), by fixation of Townsend, 1938: 152 (mention of "Ht male" is regarded as a lectotype fixation; 1 male and 1 female in type series so single male is lectotype). Type locality: Mexico.
