Genus Lypha Robineau-Desvoidy, 1830

LYPHA Robineau-Desvoidy, 1830: 141 (spelled Lyphe by Coquillett, 1910b: 563, in error). Type species: Tachina dubia Fallén, 1810, by subsequent designation of Robineau-Desvoidy, 1863a: 196 [Palearctic].


cristiverpa O'Hara, 2002.– Saskatchewan to New England, also Texas (O'Hara, 2002).
– Lypha cristiverpa O'Hara, 2002: 106. Type data: holotype male (CNC). Type locality: Canada, Québec, 10 kilometres north of Eardley.


frontalis Brooks, 1945.– Minnesota, Wisconsin, Ontario, New Brunswick (O'Hara, 2002).
– Lypha frontalis Brooks, 1945a: 85. Type data: holotype male (CNC). Type locality: Canada, Ontario, Ottawa.


fumipennis Brooks, 1945.– Widespread throughout southern Canada and northern United States, also Georgia (O'Hara, 2002).
– Lypha fumipennis Brooks, 1945a: 85. Type data: holotype male (CNC). Type locality: Canada, British Columbia, Lillooet.


melobosis (Walker, 1849).– Texas to Massachusetts and Florida (O'Hara, 2002), Missouri (DEH).
– Tachina melobosis Walker, 1849: 743. Type data: holotype male (BMNH). Type locality: USA, Florida.
– Tachina addita Walker, 1853: 290. Type data: holotype female (BMNH). Type locality: United States.
– Masicera incivica Walker, 1861: 305. Type data: syntypes, 1 male and 1 female (BMNH). Type locality: North America (as "Hindostan ?," in error; see Crosskey, 1976: 257).


parva Brooks, 1945.– British Columbia to Nova Scotia (O'Hara, 2002), Missouri (DEH).
– Lypha parva Brooks, 1945a: 86. Type data: holotype male (CNC). Type locality: Canada, Ontario, near Ottawa, Mer Bleue (bog).


setifacies (West, 1925).– Widespread throughout southern Canada, south to northern California in the west and Virginia in the east (O'Hara, 2002), Missouri (DEH).
– Didyma setifacies West, 1925: 124. Type data: holotype male (CUI). Type locality: USA, New York, Albany.
– Lypha intermedia Brooks, 1945a: 86. Type data: holotype male (CNC). Type locality: Canada, Ontario, Gogama. Type host: Pseudosciaphila duplex (Walsingham) [published as Sciaphila duplex], Tortricidae.
