Update on UGFA Negotiations

March 12, 2008 - Campus Bulletin

This campus bulletin is intended to update you on deliberations between the University and the University of Guelph Faculty Association (UGFA).

The two parties have been engaged in negotiations for some months to reach a first collective agreement. Both sides have been working hard to resolve issues and have been meeting with a mediator to assist in the deliberations.

The University remains committed to reaching a settlement. However, it is important to make the campus community aware that UGFA will be in a legal strike position as of 12:01 a.m. Friday, March 14.

In the event of a labour disruption, the University and its regional campuses, laboratories and research stations will remain open. The University of Guelph-Humber will also remain open. Decisions regarding class and examination cancellations will be communicated promptly via the University of Guelph homepage.

The University encourages you to monitor this site daily for up-to-date information on the progress of the discussions and asks for your patience and understanding.
