Individual Assistance
In addition to one-on-one assistance from your course instructor or TA, Learning Services' staff and Peer Helpers provide free individual help with a range of learning topics, including time management, problem solving, preparing for exams, and analyzing exam errors. Learning Peers are academically strong senior students who've received special training in effective learning strategies. We have Peers from a range of disciplines, so there's a good chance you can meet with someone in your program to discuss effective approaches to learning in your courses. It's also a good idea to meet with a Peer Helper to help you decide if you need to hire a tutor.

Group Assistance for MATH 1080 and STAT 2040
The Supported Learning Groups (SLG) Program offers students in MATH 1080 and STAT 2040 an opportunity to work with classmates to discuss course concepts, practise using new vocabulary and skills, and test yourself before your instructor does. Sessions are led by trained Peer Helpers who have recently taken the course and done very well. They attend lectures with you and come to sessions with lots of great study material, advice, and insight. SLG sessions are open to anyone registered in the course and you can come as often as you like.
