The School of Environmental Design and Rural Development is dedicated to education, research and practice in the planning, design, conservation, preservation, management and development of cultural and natural environments in Canadian and international settings. Education and research are provided through:
Landscape Architecture to design memorable places that are attractive, functional and sustainable and affect the way cities, suburbs, rural and wilderness areas are planned, designed and managed.
Capacity Development and Extension to promote development communication, capacity building, communication technology, adult learning, facilitation and leadership to enhance the quality of life of rural people.
Rural Planning and Development to develop planning practice to advance the welfare and integrity of rural communities and rural environments in Canada and abroad.
