Vineland KTT Initiatives

Vineland Research and Innovation Centre and the University of Guelph have partnered on a number of KTT initiatives. This work will bring new innovations and technologies to the horticulture industry. Bottom line, the projects are concerned with horticulture business competitiveness and profitability.

The collaboration between the University of Guelph, Vineland and industry is supporting a number of KTT projects including:

1. Autonomous Grapevine Pruner

2. University of Guelph Stone Fruit Breeding Program - showcasing fruit to interested parties all over the world.

3. Technology Innovation Session at the Ontario Fruit and Vegetable Convention- building awareness around innovative technology practices in the industry.

4. Ethno-cultural vegetable (ECV) production - developing networks between growers and retailers to increase production of world crops locally and diversify domestic farm operations.

About Vineland

Vineland Research and Innovation Centre (Vineland) is an independent, not-for-profit organization that was created to be a world-class centre for horticultural science and innovation. Through partnerships with industry, academia and other research institutions, Vineland is developing valuable research and innovative solutions for the fruit and vegetable, greenhouse, nursery and ornamental, and grape and wine sectors. These initiatives will promote growth and profitability for the horticulture industry across Canada. Vineland is funded in part by Growing Forward, a federal provincial territorial initiative.
