Research stations and infrastructure are an important tool for conducting agri-food research. OMAFRA-U of G Partnership research projects have access to 13 animal research stations and 7 crop research stations. Researchers also have access to other research stations and facilities, although the cost is not subsidized by the OMAFRA-U of G Partnership.
These research facilities are owned by the Agricultural Research Institute of Ontario and operated and managed by the University of Guelph with oversight from the ministry's Research and Innovation Branch.
Please view Research Station Access Fees for information about the cost associated with using the research stations.
University of Guelph clients, please view the Campus Animal Facilities Animal Maintenance Costs.
Non-University of Guelph clients, please view the External Campus Animal Facilities Animal Maintenance Costs.
Please view the Arkell Equine Research Fees for information about the cost associated with using the Arkell Equine Research Facility.
Researchers proposing to utilize the research stations must include the appropriate fees and costs, as seen in the above facility fee resources, in their proposal budgets. You can use the U of G Budget Template for Research Station Use to help plan your budget. Your actual budget will be entered into the Research Management Software when you apply to the Research Program.
