Welcome

Welcome to Plant Sciences. The University of Guelph has a long tradition with plants, beginning with the founding of the Ontario Agricultural College (OAC) in 1874. Over the years, research and teaching in the discipline has expanded to include departments in both the OAC and the College of Biological Sciences. More than fifty faculty in four academic departments offer expertise in plants that include areas such as agronomy, biochemistry, bioinformatics, botany, cell biology, ecology, genetics, genetic engineering, horticulture, molecular biology, physiology, plant breeding, tissue culture and taxonomy. Take advantage of our faculty and state-of-the-art facilities in the Plant Science Major. Our curriculum is designed to offer focus in areas of emphasis, or allow you to custom-design a program of studies to suit your needs.

If you have any questions regarding the program, contact me at: plantscimajor@uoguelph.ca.
