From the President's Window
Sitting here in my office on the fourth floor, looking out of the window over the roadway in front of the University Centre (UC), I am about to embark on a new adventure. I feel like the children in JM Barrie's Peter Pan and I literally take a breath and fly into cyberspace through my window and into the ethereal world of blogging.
And what better time to enter the blogosphere than the moment that we herald the start of the new school year?
I will try to keep a diary, of sorts, of the activities and thoughts that run through my mind on given days in the week. I am told that people actually want to know what I am thinking (which I have to admit I am still somewhat skeptical about) but here goes ...............
Let me begin with the changing vista in front of the UC. After years of waiting, Cold Storage has finally been removed and a new car park will eventually be developed with a new drop off point for visitors to the University. In time we will be able to create a garden in front of the UC and limit road access to buses which will relieve congestion and help improve safety in front of the Centre. In the meantime, the vista of the University is vastly improved by removing Cold Storage and when the landscaping has been completed I hope that it will enhance the approach to campus.
