This exciting initiative is designed to heighten awareness on campus about the Masai Project and the AIDS pandemic in Africa; to raise funds through bracelet sales; and to grow community spirit within and between the colleges and regional campuses of the University of Guelph.
The Students for Masai Executive will challenge one person from each college and regional campus to donate $2 to the Masai Project. By accepting the challenge, participants will commit themselves to donate the money AND locate as many other people as possible, within or associated to their college, who would be willing to double their donation. The donation amounts to this project will continue to grow as each participant who accepts a challenge goes on to locate people to challenge to double their donation.
The college that raises the most money by the end of the Fall semester will be publicly recognized and those individuals who contribute to the longest chain in each college will be invited to a reception in February, 2008.
