The Off-Campus Work Permit

The University of Guelph participates in the Off-Campus Work Permit program offered by Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC).

CIC is introducing a new system that will change the current process for applicants who are confirming their eligibility for an off-campus work permit. As of June 25, 2008, students applying for an off-campus work permit can no longer confirm their eligibility (full-time study status and satisfactory academic standing) through paper forms. Instead they must register online and confirm their eligibility electronically.

Students also now have the option to complete, sign, pay and submit their application for an off-campus-work permit electronically through CIC's new Online Application.

For more information, students can contact their Desiganted Instituational Representative (DIR) who is in the office of Student Financial Services, 3rd floor, University Centre or visit the CIC website.
