CIHR – Dissemination Events: Winter 2013 Competition
The CIHR Knowledge Translation (KT) Branch will provide support to dissemination events/activities that focus on the communication of health research evidence to the appropriate researcher and/or knowledge user audience(s), tailoring the message and medium as appropriate.
The total amount available for this funding opportunity is $175,000, enough to fund approximately 7 grants. This amount may increase if additional funding partners participate. The maximum amount per grant is $25,000 for up to one (1) year. This funding is non-renewable.

The specific objective of this funding opportunity is to support events/activities that contribute to the dissemination, exchange and uptake of research evidence.
· Events/activities may focus on, but are not limited to, the following:
· Education of groups such as patients, health professionals, community organizations, policy-makers, the general public;
· Knowledge dissemination that will inform practice, clinical care, partnership best practices, policy and decision making;
· Dissemination and/or discussion of research findings at scientific meetings, workshops, conferences, congresses or symposia.
Please note that primary research or primary data collection will not be supported through this funding opportunity. Any activity that may be perceived as such should be justified (e.g., surveying individuals for the purpose of the project).
