CIHR Café Scientifique Event on February 25th, 2013

On February 25th, 2013 with the generous support from the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR), through the Café Scientifique Program, the College of Management and Economics is pleased to present an open dialogue entitled "The Future of Food: Advancing Health and Food Security".  Our featured panelist is Dr. Rickey Yada, Professor, Department of Food Science from the University of Guelph.  Dr. Yada holds a Canada Research Chair in Food Protein Structure and is also the Scientific Director, Advanced Foods and Materials Canada.   The event will be moderated by CME's Dr. Sylvain Charlebois, Associate Dean.  

Come join us for an interactive discussion about research efforts underway including innovations in food packaging; confusion surrounding ‘best before’ dates and shelf life of food; and emerging technological innovations that are being explored to help feed a growing population with a focus on advancing health and food security.

Location:     Gazebo`s Lounge, Holiday Inn Guelph Hotel and Conference Centre, 601 Scottsdale Drive (near Stone Road Mall)
Time:           7:00pm - 8:30pm

This free event is hosted by CIHR and is open to the public.  Light appetizers and refreshments will be served.
