CIHR is currently redesigning its open suite of research programs and peer review process. Over the past year, CIHR engaged in stakeholder consultations regarding their proposed changes as outlined in their document entitled "CIHR Design Discussion Document: Proposed Changes to CIHR's Open Suite of Programs and Enhancements to the Peer Review Process" found at: http://www.cihr-irsc.gc.ca/e/45286.html. The results of the consultations held over the past year have been analyzed and compiled into the document entitled "What CIHR Heard: Analysis of Feedback on the Design Discussion Document" found at: http://www.cihr-irsc.gc.ca/e/45626.html.
CIHR thanks the research community, partners, and other CIHR stakeholders for their feedback on the proposed changes to the new Open Suite of Programs and peer review processes. Based on the feedback received, CIHR recognizes that there is still much work to do and many decisions to be made before implementing any changes.
As such, CIHR is conducting another set of consultations to engage stakeholders to further develop and refine the design. It is in this context that CIHR wishes to meet with health researchers, to update institutions and partners about the progress made in developing and refining the design and collect additional feedback.
