NSERC CREATE competition - Information session Monday January 28, 2013

In preparation for the next Collaborative Research and Training Program (CREATE) competition, NSERC will be holding an information session on Monday January 28, 2013 from 1:00 to 3:00 pm in Rozanski Hall Room 106. A webinar format will be used and participants will be able to communicate with NSERC's presenters. There will be a question and answer period at the end of the presentation.

The CREATE program is designed to improve the mentoring and training environment for Canadian researchers of tomorrow by improving areas such as communication, collaboration and professional skills, as well as providing experience relevant to academic and non-academic research environments. The program promotes and furthers the development of new researchers within the natural sciences and engineering (NSE) disciplines, or alternatively, at the interdisciplinary frontier between NSE and the areas covered under the umbrella of the two other federal granting agencies (the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada and the Canadian Institutes of Health Research) if, by combining the strengths of the various disciplines, a greater impact is achieved for the trainees. More information on the CREATE program may be found on NSERC's website http://www.nserc-crsng.gc.ca/Professors-Professeurs/Grants-Subs/CREATE-FONCER_eng.asp

All researchers and others who are interested in taking part, or who are interested in applying are invited to attend as are current CREATE grantees. If researchers have questions they would like to submit in advance, NSERC will be able to address these as part of the presentation.

Questions should be forwarded to Annette Clarke, Grants Officer, at acclarke@uoguelph.ca, by Thursday January 24th, so they may be collated and advanced to NSERC.

Please RSVP to Patti Minakis, Process Clerk, at pminakis@uoguelph.ca if you plan to attend. We will add a further discussion period after the NSERC's question and answer period has ended for those who are interested.

For those who are unable to attend, NSERC will record this presentation which will be made available online until the CREATE competition deadline.
