U of G Research Program Director Dr. Larry Erickson

Dr. Larry Erickson has degrees in languages as well as genetics from the University of Western Ontario and the University of Guelph. He was a Research Scientist at Allelix Inc. in Mississauga before joining the faculty at Guelph in 1989. He has specialized in the genetic engineering of crop plants, particularly for medical and veterinary applications, and more recently has focused on the utilization of crops for industrial applications, specifically materials for autoparts, packaging and construction. He has published over 40 articles and book chapters, and is inventor/co-inventor of several patents.

New Online Application System

The OMAFRA – U of G Research Program has recently implemented new web-based software, called the Research Management System (RMS), for processing research applications and reporting on projects. You must register in the RMS before you can prepare an application.

Theme Information

There will be two Town Hall Information Sessions scheduled for the following dates in order to address any of your questions related to the Calls for LOI's. Research Program Directors will be attending to respond to inquiries:

  • Monday October 24, 9:30-11:00 OVC Lifetime Learning Centre, Room 1713
  • Thursday, October 27, 2:30-4:00, OVC Lifetime Learning Centre, Room 1713

Deadlines

  • Letters of Intent are due by noon Monday, November 21, 2011
