Procedures for Submitting Full Proposals
If your Letter of Intent is approved, you will be invited to submit a Full Proposal.
1) Prepare a complete full proposal
Ensure that any specific concerns or deficiencies noted by the LOI Review Committee are addressed. Any concerns or deficiencies can be found in the letter you received inviting you to submit a full proposal.
A complete full proposal includes;
- A completed and signed full proposal (using the template provided)
- A completed budget including team description and if applicable, all research station services access fees (using the budget template provided)
- CVs for the Principal Investigator and all scientific collaborators (NSERC 100 Form or equivalent).
The following signatures are required in Section 15: Signatures of the full proposal template:
Principal Investigator -This signature indicates that all members have agreed to participate in this project and acknowledge their responsibilities for Protocols and Health and Safety. This signature also indicates that the Principal Investigator agrees that the information in the sections entitled “Contact Information, Project Title, Timeframe, Executive Summary, Project Objectives, Expected Outcome, Impacts and Benefits, Literature Review, Specific Project Deliverables/Milestones, Team Member Contributions and Program Budget Outline” will be made available to the public on the University of Guelph and/or ICAR web sites.
Principal Investigator’s Department Chair/Campus Director- This signature indicates that the department chair/campus director overseeing the Principle Investigator (PI) has been informed of the proposal and the potential commitments this may entail.
Collaborating Department(s) Chair/Campus Director signature(s)-This/these signature(s) indicate(s) that the department chair/campus director overseeing collaborators for this project has/have been informed of the proposal and the potential commitments this may entail. This is required for all University of Guelph collaborators and is recommended for non-University of Guelph collaborators, to ensure researcher commitments can be met. Signatures obtained by fax are accepted.
2) Submit all documents by email to resadmin@uoguelph.ca
3) Submit hard copies of all documents to one of the following:

Full Proposals will be selected on the basis of the following Project Selection Criteria:
- Quality of Science (based on peer-review)
- Demonstrated Benefit of the Integrated Research Plan
- Team Management Plan and Likelihood of Success
- Clear delineation of the Team Members’ Roles and Contributions, and of the value added by OMAFRA’S investment (operating dollar; research stations; personnel) in the project.
