Request for Proposals from Ontario Centres of Excellence and the Centre for Excellence in Mining Innovation

Ontario Centres of Excellence (OCE) and the Centre for Excellence in Mining Innovation (CEMI) are working with industry and NSERC to fund $2 million in university and industry based, transformative R&D in productivity, energy, water and waste relating to Ontario’s mining industry and its value chain.

Research projects will be in the area of Advanced Manufacturing with a demonstrated immediate upstream or downstream benefit to the mining sector, leading to novel, newly adapted or adopted processes, products, or services. The following topics will receive highest consideration:

• Transformative productivity improvements for the mining and related sectors
• Management of water for the mining and related sectors
• Management of energy for the mining and related sectors
• Waste management for the mining and related sectors

Expressions of Interest are submitted to OCE-CEMI through the OCE online system. Please note the top ranked EOI's will be invited to write a full proposal and submit thru the NSERC CRD program.  High quality EOI's not selected for the NSERC CRD initiative may be redirected for consideration by OCE, CEMI or NSERC individually.
