Dr. Robert Corry is an associate professor of landscape architecture in the University of Guelph's School of Environmental Design & Rural Development.  Dr. Corry's teaching focuses on landscape ecology as a way to inform landscape design and planning, on landscape mensuration, and on change in agricultural landscapes.  In particular, his teaching and research emphasize conservation of biodiversity, habitat design and assessment, and ecologically-functional landscape design.  Current research includes rehabilitating aggregate pits and quarries for ecological function using alternative futures, and on characterizing historical agricultural landscape changes in southern Ontario.

Previously, Dr. Corry served as a landscape architect with the Natural Resources Conservation Service, United States Department of Agriculture, in Washington, DC.  He received the American Society of Landscape Architects President's Award of Excellence (1999) for his contributions to Stream Corridor Restoration: Principles, Processes, and Practices, a Council of Educators in Landscape Architecture Award of Recognition (2006) for excellence in teaching and research, and a Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation Award (2007) for excellence in education of sustainable design and planning practices.
