facultyThe Landscape Architecture faculty offer a broad range of backgrounds which add to the richness of the learning environment at the University of Guelph . All of the faculty hold professional degrees in landscape architecture and many have additional degrees in related fields. They have worked in the public and private sectors and taught at other institutions. Many are considered leaders in the profession of landscape architecture and in research that supports the profession. They have been recognized nationally and internationally for their contributions to teaching, research, writing, practice and professional service. They bring many years of experience and commitment to the Landscape Architecture programs at the University of Guelph . The areas of research and practice for which Guelph faculty are best known include sustainable design, microclimatic design, landscape and ecological planning, water resource planning, landscape restoration and remediation, cultural landscape assessment and planning, heritage conservation planning and design, landscape perception, therapeutic landscapes, planting design, environmental psychology, computing technology, participatory design, community-based planning and design, cross-cultural design, community design, and tourism planning.
