Helen joined SEDRD - Capacity Development and Extension in September 2003.  She has more than 15 years of experience in international research and development programs in Africa, North Africa and Latin America.  She came to the University of Guelph from the International Service for National Agricultural Research (ISNAR), based in The Hague.  Helen has also worked with the International Development Research Centre (IDRC) and the non-governmental sector in Canada and Kenya.

Helen's work involves social analysis of agricultural innovation systems including topics such as communication for social and environmental change, gender and participatory development.  Helen leads a research project called Linking Agricultural Research and Rural Radio in Africa.
