Assistant Professor Position – Tenure Track Environmental Management of Agricultural Resources. School of Environmental Sciences Ridgetown Campus, University of Guelph
The School of Environmental Sciences of the University of Guelph invites applications from outstanding candidates for a full‐time, tenure track, position at the Assistant Professor level in the area of environmental management of agricultural resources. The successful candidate will be located at the Ridgetown Campus and have the responsibility for developing an independent research program addressing environmental issues relevant to the Canadian/Ontario Agri‐food system. Minimum qualifications are a Ph.D. in agricultural engineering, or agricultural or environmental sciences. Applicants must have clear potential for securing research funding, teaching diploma and undergraduate degree courses, and a strong interest in extension of research to key stakeholders. The start date is negotiable, but it is hoped that the incumbent will take up the post not later than May, 2012.

We are seeking a Sedimentologist with expertise in siliciclastic rocks and its application to hydrocarbon deposits. The Department of Geology is a small, dynamic unit that is widely recognized for excellence in providing well rounded, applied undergraduate and graduate programs, incorporating field-work and subsurface geology. The successful applicant will have broad experience in all sub-disciplines of geology and be comfortable teaching a variety of courses from introductory to advanced levels of our undergraduate degree program. The successful candidate is also expected to develop an externally funded research program and teach related graduate-level courses. Over the years, the Department has fostered an excellent relationship with industry and various government agencies resulting in collaborative research projects. The successful candidate will be expected to continue that tradition. Tier 2 Canada Research Chair in Planetary Materials @ The University of Western Ontario

applications for a Tier 2 Canada Research Chair in the area of Planetary Materials. Appointment to a
faculty position will be conditional on the selected candidate being awarded a Canada Research Chair. It
is anticipated that the Chair nomination will be submitted to the CRC Secretariat in April 2012. The
appointment will be made at the rank of assistant or associate professor (probationary (tenure-track) or
tenure), with a starting date for the appointment of January 1, 2013, or later.
Planetary Materials is a major interdisciplinary research theme at The University of Western Ontario, led
by the inter-faculty Centre for Planetary Science and Exploration with strong involvement and support
from the Faculties of Science, Engineering, Social Science, Arts and Humanities and the Schulich School
of Medicine & Dentistry. This position builds upon the recent appointment of an NSERC/MDA/CSA
Industrial Research Chair in Planetary Geology and a Tier 1 Canada Research Chair in Planetary Science. See attached PDF for additional information.
