Joseph Tindale

Dr. Joseph Tindale is a social gerontologist and professor in the Family Relations and Applied Nutrition (FRAN) department at the University of Guelph and Interim Chair in the Department of Sociology & Anthropology (2010-2012) while retaining his research and graduate student advising responsibilities in FRAN. He received his PhD in Sociology from York University.  In 1981, he joined the faculty in the Family Relations and Applied Nutrition department (then called the Family Studies department). He teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in Family Relations and Social Gerontology. Professor Tindale was Department Chair (FRAN) 2000-2005. He has served on numerous university committees and research councils over the ensuing years. Dr. Tindale will complete a double term as the Secretary Treasurer for the Canadian Association on Gerontology in October 2011 and in July 2011 was elected to the Board of Trustees, St. Joseph’s Health Centre, Guelph
