Changes to Wired Network Access MacKinnon rooms 223-238, 304-318 Network Access Control / Clean Access Agent Beginning February 9, 2010 there will be a change to wired network access in MacKinnon second floor (223-238) and MacKinnon third floor (304-318) classrooms. Network Access Control and Clean Access Agent will be implemented, on a pilot basis, to provide enhanced security for network access. NAC and CAA are already successfully deployed on the Campus Wireless Network.

Date Service Will Start February 9, 2010 after regular network maintenance between 6am and 8am.
What Will Change All users of the wired network connections in MacKinnon rooms 223-238 and 304-318 will require a University of Guelph Central Login Account and password.
Login using Network Access Control will be required. (all Windows, Mac, and Linux users)
Windows users will require Clean Access Agent for full network (Internet) access.
Who Will Be Affected? All Faculty, Sessional Faculty, Staff, Students, and others who use the wired network connection.
How to Prepare
Campus Wireless Network Users Regular users of the Campus Wireless Network need no further preparation to use the wired network connections in MacKinnon 223-238 and 304-318. On February 9 th the login process will be identical to what is currently used for the wireless network.
Non-users of Campus Wireless Network
1. University of Guelph Central Login Account - Required for All Users
Departments should ensure that all their faculty, sessional faculty, and teaching professionals using these classrooms have a University of Guelph Central Login Account .
CCS provides an on-line process to establish accounts.

2. Prepare Your Computer
Preferred Method - Log Onto the Campus Wireless Network
The preferred method is for faculty to log onto the Campus Wireless Network with their laptop used for teaching and their University of Guelph Central Login Account . This will guide faculty through the necessary installation and update process. Positive connection to the Campus Wireless Network verifies that positive connection is possible in the classrooms.
Windows users must install the Cisco Clean Access Agent for full network (Internet) access.

Alternate Method - If unable to log onto the Campus Wireless Network (i.e. no wireless network card in laptop)
Perform all Windows Updates.

Enter 'Clean Access' in the Product Search box
