Welcome to WISH, an online searchable bibliography of works on Women in Scottish History. Research on the history of Scottish women has expanded dramatically in the last decade, producing an ever-increasing number of articles, essay collections, monographs and editions of primary sources, and monographs. Women's History Scotland has organised conferences on a variety of aspects of women's experience, and has sponsored two collective works, Gender in Scottish History Since 1700 and The Biographical Dictionary of Scottish Women, both published by Edinburgh University Press in 2006.

WISH is intended to facilitate further research in the field by providing references to books and articles on women in Scottish history. You can search for works by author, title, period and/or specified subject keywords. Within the search results the following information is provided:
