Welcome to the Association for Baha'i Studies
The
Association for Baha'i Studies (ABS) at the University of
Guelph is a registered club of the
Central Student's Association and an affiliate of the Association for
Baha'i Studies - North America.
It is an
organization whose
membership is open to all students,
faculty, staff, alumni, and their families - founded to promote
academic inquiry into religious, ethical and moral
responses to the social challenges facing humanity.
Its seeks
to
bring together, in a spirit of fellowship, all those who wish to foster
unity among different racial, ethnic and religious groups, and explore ways to overcome the
antagonism, injustice, and partisan interests that act as barriers to a
prosperous and peaceful world.
It invites students of all backgrounds and disciplines to join us in
consultating on the urgent
issues
facing the world today and examine our individual and collective
roles in creating environments where unity in diversity
prevail.
Activities of the Association for Bahá'í Studies include
the coordination and presention of original research on the teachings,
history, and philosophies of the
Bahá'í Faith, and related events such as lectures,
conferences, roundtable discussions,
workshops, and or other social
venues.
You are invited to
bring your personal experiences and views to these ongoing efforts to
explore the Sacred Word, question prevailing
norms, and explore the
Bahá'í teachings and
thier application to real world problems. (more)
