sample of a sigmaplot graph It's possible to create graphs in Excel or other programs, but it's preferable to use SigmaPlot. This is software written by scientists, for scientists. SigmaPlot allows almost complete freedom in creating scientific graphs, giving you control over linetypes, symbols, tick marks, axis labels and breaks, legends, and so on. It's easy to move data sets back and forth between Excel and SigmaPlot. You can also download data from some instruments, such as the Cary UV-vis, in spreadsheet format, and then use SigmaPlot to print out the spectra, chromatograms, etc.
