Interests: My research focuses on the effects of behavioural decisions by terrestrial mammals on population dynamics and community structure. A mix of theoretical and empirical approaches is used to consider the dynamics of specific systems. Theoretical questions of interest include herbivore migration in relation to resource use and predation risk, carnivore and herbivore spatial distribution in relation to resource use and predation risk, optimal diet and patch selection in heterogeneous environments, and the effect of social interference and territoriality on predator-prey interactions.
