Interests: I have long term field experiments set up near Bamfield Marine Sciences Centre and enjoy hosting international visitors at my molecular ecology research lab at Guelph. I also have co-ordinated a multi-university NSERC Collaborative grant to look at Evolutionary Ecology of Exotic Species Introductions into the Great Lakes and am now co-ordinating a multi-university AquaNet grant to develop a breeding program for endangered pinto abalone at the Bamfield Huu-Ay-Aht Community Abalone Project hatchery. My laboratory also investigates the factors that determine whether a population will adapt to a change in the environment without going extinct.
