Over the years, the society has made available a number of resources to promote sustainability on campus. There are a number of initiatives that we have implemented to help achieve and maintain that vision.
  • The "I am Reusable" Membership Loan (4 cards available for loan)

For those of you who aren't familiar, the University of Guelph has a "i am reusable" program where instead of a disposable container for your food, you can get a reusable container for a one time fee ($5). The society thought that it would be a great idea to start a loan program for those who may not have this one time fee to spare. All you have to do is come by the office, sign out a "i am reusable" card, get your food and give the cafeteria staff the card when you pay for your food. The awesome thing is that you don't have to carry around these containers in your backpack all day, you don't even have to wash it! Just bring it back to the UC and drop it off at the return bin and the cashier will give you a card back. After, just bring the card back to the egov office to sign the card back in. Simple!

  • Printing by Donation for those in the Department of Geography (Black & White only)

The society has a printer available for undergraduate and graduate students, staff as well as faculty members of the Department of Geography. Library black and white printing is offered at 10 cents per page, while CSA black and white printing is offered at 5 cents perpage. Although both are quite afforadable, there are still some limitations as printing in the library requires a printing card and printing in the CSA office is only available during business days/hours. We hope that by offering this service, it would benefit students in the Department of Geography that spend the majority of their time in the HUTT building.
