About the UGEC

The UGEC is a non-profit, student-operated club that was formed by a small student group of horse enthusiasts in the 2002-2003 school year. We provide a base for students to get together to talk and learn about horses, ride in lessons of various disciplines, compete at various levels of horse shows, and participate in various other club activities.

Our goals as a club are as follows:

  • To provide a forum for broadening our knowledge of all aspects of horse care, management and training.
  • To provide riding and hands-on learning opportunities to all students of ALL equestrian skill levels.
  • To learn from industry and faculty experts through extension.
  • To bring together a community of horse enthusiasts.
  • To have fun!!!

Some club-related events and activities include:

  • Guest Speakers
  • Clinics
  • Tours of local facilities
  • Movie nights
  • Lesson programs
  • Trip to the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair

So come out and join in the fun! New members are always welcome!
