The OTS Professional Veterinary Fraternity is proud to present the Second Annual Dog Jog, a fun, non-competitive 5km/2km fun run/walk held in the Arboretum at the University of Guelph!
As student veterinarians, we are dedicated to the advancement of veterinary medicine and we could not be more proud of the amazing work that the Pet Trust Fund is doing to help our canine and feline family members!
100% of the proceeds from the Dog Jog go to Pet Trust and this year we are dedicating the fund to the new Animal Cancer Centre, Canada's first comprehensive cancer centre for our animal companions! This exciting initiative will aid in the treatment of our pets, and the medical investigations preformed there will also help humans due to the numerous links between canine cancer and humans!
So come on out on Saturday March 24th at 9:30am with or without your dog, and show your support for this terrific organization! Registration is only $20, but we encourage all participants to get additional sponsors for their run or walk - There will be prizes for our top fundraisers!
Registration can be done at this link.
Any questions can be directed to Rebecca Sterns (rsterns@uoguelph.ca) or Nick Buchok (nbuchok@uoguelph.ca).

"Global Vets" is a volunteer program run by the OVC, in which 3rd-year OVC students travel to poorer areas of the world and run high volume spay and neuter clinics. This year, they will be going to India to run a spay-neuter clinic as well as a high altitude large animal clinic. Global Vets is selling calendars to help fundraise for their trip, and the FVC will also be selling them on their behalf.
Calendars are $15, and feature pictures taken by students who took part of the Global Vets program last year. Examples of pictures illustrated in the calendar include elephants from Thailand, monkeys from India, cattle from Africa, etc. A caption is written under each picture to explain where it was taken, who took the picture, and any other interesting information
Calendars will be available at the General Meeting, and details of how to get them afterwards will also be provided. As a thank-you for supporting their cause, the veterinary students have offered to give a question and answer session for anyone that purchases the calendar. You will be able to ask them about things like their application to vet school, their experiences in vet school and your own journey to vet school.
