
Trametes versicolor Turkey Tail
Fruitbodies are shelving, overlapping, thin, pliable, tough, and 3-8 cm long by up to 5 cm wide. Shelves areonly 1-3 mm thick, velvety, narrowly zonate, and variable in colour from tan to orange to red-brown to amber. Pores are whitish to cream or yellowish, with shallow tubes, and 3-5 per mm. This attractive bracket fungus is also known as Coriolus versicolor. Widespread and very common, this species fruits on hardwood logs and stumps.
