Sometimes called White Bird's Nest or White-Egg Bird's Nest or even Common Bird's Nest, this is the most common of the woodland species of Bird's Nest Fungi (BNF) in the East and fruits on dead twigs or branches. It is easily recognized by the white to cream-coloured "eggs" (= peridioles). The cone-shaped fruitbodies are only about a centimetre tall and/or broad.
