Mycena galericulata

Caps are 2-4 cm, smooth, conic to bell-shaped, becoming plane or knobbed, striate, darker brown in centre, paler towards edge, fading to tan when dry or in age. Gills are attached, white, tinged with pink, well-spaced. Stalks are up to 10 cm tall, slender, smooth, tough, grey to red-brown. Spore prints are white and amyloid. Widespread and common, it fruits on rotten wood, in dense clusters.
