Conocybe filaris         Deadly Conocybe

Diagnostic Features:  This small (up to 2.5 cm diam) mushroom has a hemispherical cap, rusty brown gills and a broad stiff collar around the slender stalk.  Deadly Poionous. The mushroom contains the deadly amanitin and phalloidin toxins (hence the common name).  Beware little brown mushrooms (LBMs)!  See also Galerina autumnalis (amanitin, phalloidin) and Inocybe spp (muscarine).
