Gymnopilus luteofolius   Yellow-Gilled Gymnopilus

Diagnostic Features:   The yellow gills stand out in pleasing contrast to the red-brown, fibre-streaked, knobbed caps.  These mushrooms have fleshy caps and grow up to 12 cm across. The stalk has a ring that may disappear at maturity.   The edibility of this species is unknown but related species are considered poisonous (hallucinogenic).  So have a care!
