Leccinum chromapes

Caps are 4-12 cm, convex to broadly convex, dry, hairy to smooth, pinkish-red to tan.  Flesh is white, pink below skin, not staining. Tubes are white to flesh, aging brown.  Pores are tiny and round. Stalks are up to 10 cm tall by 2 cm wide, white with pinkish tints and bright yellow base, and covered with raised reddish dots.  Spore prints are  pinkish brown. It fruits on the ground in woods. Also known as Tylopilus chromapes. Edible.
