Lycoperdon candidum White Lycoperdon Fruitbodies are up to 4.5 cm tall, with the head up to 3 cm across, and with a short, rooting base. Outer wall is covered with pyramidal spines which slough off in patches to reveal a brown to olive inner wall. The spore mass olive-brown. Widespread and common, this species fruits on sandy soil. Also known as L. marginatum. Edible. |
