Mycena amabilissima

Diagnostic Features:    One of a host of beautiful Mycena species.  The tiny, bell-shaped caps are a bright coral-red when young small and compact but  the colour fades to a pale rose as the caps enlarge.  The caps are radially striate and the stalks whitish and translucent.   It fruits on conifer needles. Although widespread, this attractive species is particularly common in the western rain forests.
