Oedocephalum sp.   stages in development of spores from apical vesicle.

Spores (conidia) develop synchronously from a terminal swollen vesicle.     The conidia are ovoid (egg-shaped) when mature.   Some Oedocephalum species are the asexual (anamorph) states of Discomycetes (cup fungi).    In Oedocephalum the vegetative hyphae are septate and this would distinguish it from similar fungi in the Zygomycota.
