Hygrocybe agathosomus              Almond-Scented Wax Cap

Caps are 4-8 cm across , convex becoming flat, sticky to slimy, smooth, and grey to brownish grey.  Bruised flesh has almond odour.  Gills are  white to greyish, attached or short decurrent, and  well-spaced.   Stalks are   up to 8 cm tall by 2 cm wide, white to pale brown, and slightly roughened.  Spore prints are white.  Widespread but not common in eastern Canada.  Edibility unknown.
