Hygrophorus chrysodon Golden Tooth Wax Cap Caps are 2-7 cm across, convex, becoming flat, with low knob, slippery when wet, shiny when dry, white, and dotted with minute yellow granules, especially at the margin. Gills are decurrent, well-spaced, and white. Stalks are up to 7 cm tall by 1 cm broad, and white with scattered yellow hairs. Spore prints are white. Widespread but not common, it fruits on the ground in woods and is recognized by the yellow granules. Edible. |
